VCS releases CompuPawn for Windows while allows pawnbrokers to run CompuPawn on the popular Windows operating system. Additionally, pawnbrokers can now capture Customer Pictures, Merchandise Pictures in a new easy to use Windows-based interface.

CompuPawn 5.x is released. This year 2000 compliant product, contains several new features, including the ability to export reports to spreadsheet programs (i.e. Microsoft Excel) as well as containing extensive new documentation in an easy to use electronic format.

VCS introduces its year 2000 compliant software product, CompuPawn 2000, which also includes over 40 new enhancements. CP-LITE products are no longer supported.

VCS introduces CompuPawn 3.6 which incorporates over 100 feature enhancements from CompuPawn 3.5.

VCS creates CompuPawn-LITE by separating some feature-specific “Modules” of CompuPawn from the basic functions of the software. CompuPawn-LITE is marketed to smaller pawnshops that do not need all of the features of CompuPawn.

VCS ports its CompuPawn product onto multiple operating system platforms that include DOS, UNIX, XENIX, LANtastic, Novell, IBM AIX, and Alpha Micro. This allows CompuPawn configuration using PC-compatible computer CPUs.

VCS creates CompuPawn 3.0 which represented a basic change in structure of CompuPawn setting the stage for PC-compatible development of the software program.

Express Cash and Cash America purchase CompuPawn. Through continuous enhancements and features added for these large multi-store chains, CompuPawn is considered the standard by which all other pawnshop programs are measured.

US Pawn purchases CompuPawn to manage twenty (20) of its stores. CompuPawn’s features grow to include the management of multi-store pawnshop operations.

VCS expands its business to market and sell the software program CompuPawn to other pawnbrokers who can benefit from its many features.

Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. (VCS), with the input of The Happy Hocker owners and staff, develops a computer program called CompuPawn that performs the specific tasks of managing a pawnshop business.
